You need to get these accounts opened up!
Just to start,
If you have not yet done this, now is the time!
Go to; http://www.myspace.com and open up an account with Myspace. Don’t be concerned about content or putting anything up at all other than your name!
When you are asked to put in a user name, I would suggest using your own name. Using your own name is a good thing for many reasons, which we will get into later.
If for some reason your name is taken then add a number or an underscore to your name.
Like this; Jane_ Joe …to do an underscore, that little line in between your name, which is not a dash (-) you simply hit shift on your keyboard and hit the dash (-) button at the same time and you will have an underscore _ like that.
Of course you could use a dash in between as well. I just find it easier to use your own name consistently so you don’t have to remember the user name on each profile. (hard enough to remember passwords)
The other benefit of using your own name is that people will be able to find you. and who know’s like many others you maty want to create a business, or business profile.
Don’t use or put some cutesy name in, or some lame hero’s name, and then have to concern yourself later with changing it!
So for today, go ahead to all of these sites mentioned below and set up an account! They are all FREE to join and you can fill them with content later! Just click on these highlighted links and they will take you straight to the pages to sign up. When you click on these, a “new window” will open.
When you are done with setting up your first account do the same for the others.
(Hit the “x” in the upper right hand corner) You will get right back here again to sign up for your next account!
(From now on, we will call it “x” out)
I recommend that you have a Gmail e-mail account, even if you are using something else like Hotmail or Microsoft Outlook mail. It is always a good idea to have a second email account. I would recommend you use Gmail as your primary email account. (we can go into the reasons for that too a little later) 
Instant Communication Chat Program {Skype} video, text chat, and phone…
This instant chat is a must have! There are many,”chat programs” available like AOL, MSN, Google Chat and others.
This chat instant messaging service is a must have and I would recommend using it over any other… or in addition to others
If you are already using an instant messaging service then that is OK, you can still use it. However, if you want to use it eventually for business, or if you need to get a hold of myself, or others who are there to help you in real time, then this is the one you need to get!
go to www.skype.com
I still use the older version of skype, not the new 4.0, I simply find it works better FOR ME!
When you open that account go to the “add” tab (contacts) and add my id; karin.hiebert another box will open, other names and karin’s etc, will come up… but there will only be one karin.hiebert…just click on my name and I will be added…
Take a look around, and check out the tabs, menu etc. so you can see what is there and the functions…
you will see when you click on my name in your contacts list, a “chat box will open” in the box at the bottom, just type something in, and hit send or enter… I will receive your message in instant time… chances are you will get a response from me, because I am most often online. (I have no life!)
